Marie Adelaide Leprosy Centre (MALC) is the largest NGO working in the field of Leprosy in Pakistan, in collaboration with the Provincial Health Departments of Sindh, Baluchistan, N.W.F.P, Northern Area and Azad Kashmir for the last four decades.
The Centre arranges free of cost treatment for Leprosy in all the 157 Centres/Sub centres around the country, as well as socio-economic rehabilitation of deserving cases registered so far. Its head-quarter is situated in Karachi and houses a training institute for paramedical workers trained as Leprosy/Tuberculosis/Ophthalmic Technicians. Its 80-bedded hospital is the main secondary referral facility for not only Pakistan, but also for neighboring Afghanistan. |
